Fort Jackson band’s Salute to Service Veterans Day concert

The Fort Jackson 282nd Army Band will present a veterans day concert titled Salute to Service in the local community. The concerts will be held Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. at the Shandon United Methodist Church, 3407 Devine Street, Columbia, S.C., 20205.
“The band wants to remember and thank those who have served and we will have a special emphasis on the 75th anniversary of D-Day,” said Chief Warrant Officer George T. Bauer, 282nd Army Band Master.
The performance will include the concert band and the big band, under the direction of Chief Warrant Officer 3 George T. Bauer and 1st Sgt. Laurence Dean. There will be a solo by vocalist Staff Sgt. Christ Fairley. Music will be performed by Glenn Miller, John Williams, John Philips Sousa and Carmen Dragon
The band is also partnering with musicians from the event host, Shandon United Methodist Church. This will include their music director, Eddie Huss; their organist, Debbie Bauer; and their Chancel Choir.
