Today Governor McMaster recognized April as the Month of the Military Child. Our state recognizes the unique qualities of military children. We cherish our military families and their children and are doing everything we can to smooth their transitions and enable their success. Military children understand the call of duty because their parent serves a greater need in the world. These children are expected to bear the burden of change as their parents are deployed or re-assigned. Despite these challenges, military children are proven to be resilient, adaptable, and high achievers in school. They and their families are valuable members of our communities and we’re proud that they call South Carolina home. Read the Governor’s Proclamation here.
