MBTF is busy this summer! We’ve been around the state to welcome new base commanders and congratulate our departing commanders on their next assignments:

Fort Jackson: BG Milford “Beags” Beagle assumed command from MG John “Pete” Johnson.

MCRD Parris Island: Brig. Gen. James F. Glynn assumed command from Brig. Gen. Austin E. Renforth.

437th Airlift Wing: Col. Clinton ZumBrunnen assumed command from Col. Jimmy Canlas.

Shaw AFB: Col. Derek O’Malley assumed command from Col. Daniel Lasica.

McEntire Joint National Guard Base: Col. Nicholas Gentile Jr. handed the reins of the 169th Fighter Wing to the vice wing commander, Col. Akshai Gandhi.

We attended the Fort Jackson new employee orientation at Columbia’s Capitol City Club. This was a great opportunity to introduce our newest Army families to life in South Carolina.

We attended the Beaufort Water Festival where we celebrated the Parris Island Historical and Museum Society’s gift of $200,000 to preserve the historic U.S. Marine Corps Film Repository film collection, which consists of over 10,000 reels of films shot by U.S. Marines throughout the 20th century.
