State officials celebrate the Month of the Military Child with Richland One teachers.

April is the national Month of the Military Child, and in South Carolina, we celebrated this today at a Richland One military child workshop for teachers. Our state recognizes the unique qualities of military children. Military children understand the call of duty because their parent serves a greater need in the world. These children are expected to bear the burden of change as their parents are deployed or re-assigned. Frequent moves typical of military life translate to as many as nine different schools for a military child. In South Carolina, we cherish our military families and their children, and are doing everything we can to smooth their transitions and enable their success. Month of Military Child Release
