Joint Land Use Study Agreement Signed

Officials and community leaders representing Beaufort County, the City of Beaufort, Town of Port Royal, and Lowcountry Council of Governments gathered on December 12, 2017, with the commanding officers from local Marine Corps installations for a ceremonial signing of the Joint Land Use Study (JLUS). MCAS Commanding Officer Col. Timothy Miller, the Chief of Staff of MCRD Parris Island Matt St. Clair, Beaufort’s Mayor Billy Keyserling, Port Royal’s Mayor Sam Murray, Beaufort County Chairman Paul Sommerville, County Councilman Bryan Flewelling representing LCOG, Janet Gresham with the Realtors Association and Beaufort Regional Chamber President Blakely Williams were honored to take part in this ceremony. The JLUS planning process seeks to protect military readiness and defense while supporting continued regional economic development.
